Introduction
This is an analysis of the set of top ten SERPs on page one on Google.co.uk on May 16th 2006. The keyword is v7ndotcom elursrebmem which is the keyword chosen by v7n.com (V7 Networks) for the v7ndotcom elursrebmem SEO competition that recently finished.
This analysis looks at several different aspects of the SERPs and the sites that ranked in the top ten. Some traditional SEO points are looked at as well as some new aspects that seem to make a difference.
I have broken down each section of the anlysis and explained how it was done and why.
I have made a serious of observations and thoughts on the analysis which is not meant to be speculation or predication, just what I can see.
This is a good way to see what we are dealing with after Googles BigDaddy update, although I think it may still be a bit too early to tell anything, its still a nice insight into the algorithm.
If you go on the principle of basing your SEO on what the top ten are doing you can't go too far wrong! It should be noted that these are not typical SERPs and this is not a typical search term.
This is a non commercial, non sensicle search term. There is not likely to be much in the way of sandboxing or commercial or SEO filters in place. This will of course differ for more commercial search terms.
