How to Find DOFOLLOW Blog Links
When link building many people use blogs comments to gain links to their sites. Whilst this isn't the most effective link building practice it is one of the easier ways to aquire links. The problem is most blogs apply the NOFOLLOW attribute to links making them completely useless for SEO purposes.
So how do I find DOFOLLOW Blogs?
Well luckily for you there are a couple of tricks to help you in your search for DOFOLLOW Blogs. Firstly we have the Google Coop application developed by Matt Inertia. The DOFOLLOW Blog finder allows you to enter a keyword and find blogs that don't apply the NOFOLLOW attribute and are thus considered DOFOLLOW links.
The second link below is about an SEO Plug-in for Firefox that lets you see NOFOLLOW links on a page that are highlighted. This is very useful.
What is NOFOLLOW / DOFOLLOW?
A NOFOLLOW link is one that has the NOFOLLOW attribute applied to it. You do this as shown below..
<a href="url" rel="nofollow">A NOFOLLOW Link</a">
If the NOFOLLOW attribute is applied it effectively says to search engines "I can't vouch for this site" and as such it passes no SEO bennefit or link weight on. This is why for SEO purposes NOFOLLOW links are not worthile and have no SEO bennefit.
Receiving links with a NOFOLLOW attribute is still good because natural traffic can still come to your site but it does nothing to directly effect search engine positioning.
A word of warnign about using NOFOLLOW links on your own site. By making lots of your own pages NOFOLLOW links it devalues your site. If you can't vouch for your own site it doesn't say much for it.
